Asset Management Module data consumers and maintenance management system users require the Meridian Explorer client that is available in a web browser. The only Asset Management Module components that are necessary for web browser users is the BlueCielo viewer, if documents will be viewed. The viewer is the major component of the Meridian Enterprise Office Web Client, so that is the easiest way to install the viewer. Alternatively, configure Meridian Explorer to show documents using AutoVue Client/Server as described in the BlueCielo Meridian Explorer Administrator's Guide.

Note

• The Oracle AutoVue 2D Professional viewer that is integrated with the BlueCielo viewer (including the server-side AutoVue Client/Server applet) can also be used for viewing. For installation and configuration information, see the BlueCielo Meridian Enterprise Administrator’s Guide.
• Although only the Meridian Enterprise Office Web Client is installed, each maintenance management system user that will also use the Asset Management Module will require a license as described in Understanding the licensing.

To install the client components:

1. On each client computer, start the Meridian Enterprise setup program as described in the BlueCielo Meridian Enterprise Administrator’s Guide.

Note    Both the InstallShield setup and the Windows Installer Package (MSI) files are provided with Meridian Enterprise. The deployment options for both are described in the BlueCielo Meridian Enterprise Administrator’s Guide.

2. On the Select Components page, select the Office Web Client Setup option and proceed as described in the BlueCielo Meridian Enterprise Administrator’s Guide.
3. If the Meridian Enterprise vault documents use references extensively or maintenance management system users will redline the documents to initiate engineering change orders, the Enable Office Web Client option must be enabled for each user. To enable the option centrally for all users, set the DownLoadDocumentWithRefs value of the following registry key to 1 on the Meridian Enterprise Web Access server:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Cyco\AutoManager Meridian\CurrentVersion\Weblink\UserPreferences\Default\

Note    This step is not necessary if only Adobe PDF documents will be viewed. The Asset Management Module will use Adobe Reader, if installed.

4. If a custom Maximo or SAP link program will be run locally as described in Installing the Maximo link program or Installing the SAP link program, install it at this time.
